How to remove applications

Just converted and could not be happier! However, still need to figure some simple tasks out like how to safely remove applications (e.g., do I merely drag the application from the applications folder to the trash?) Thanks in advance.

most of the time doing what you said (dragging it to the trash) takes care of it. Applications may store preferences or other settings elsewhere, but those are small text files...

Aww, cut him some slack. In the Windows world, removing an application is a function of the OS (Add/Remove Programs control panel). So, in a Windowsy way, this thread would be in the correct forum.

Yeah but he still should have done the bare minimum legwork before posting. This question is asked every week.
