I just got my hands on a iMac G3 DV SE but it is running on 10.1. I tried to install Tiger on it with my Powerbook discs but it doesn't work. Is there any way to get this to work without spending $129 to get Tiger?

A. its stealing
B. Apple keys the disks to the model (probably not the specific unit but the type of machine in general). So you cannot use the disks to insall Tiger on another computer.

If you want Tiger you should be willing to buy it then.

Ok, I'll just go buy it tomorrow. I have another question but don't want to start another thread, so here it is. I want to install OS9 on my iMac and I have the discs, but I dunno how to install it without formatting the whole drive?

If the disk is not formated with the OS 9 drivers, there is no way.

I just finished installing Panther and plan to get Tiger tomorrow, I formatted the drive with the OS 9 drivers box checked, if that's what you mean. So how do I install OS 9?

Well, using the install disc, just as OS X.
