Hi all,

I've discovered something really weird. Whenever there is a progress bar visible and I try to minimize a window or move my mouse quickly over the dock there is a noticable sluggishness. So try that:
1. Move your mouse over the dock from one side to the other quickly with magnification enabled
2. Start a download with Safari and open the downloads window and make sure the progress bar is moving
3. Now try hovering over the dock again and you should notice a difference in the animation - it's not that smooth

For best effects now cover up the progress bar with another window and repeat again and the uncover it and try to see the effects on the dock. I can reproduce that every time. What about you?

EDIT: Can anyone at least confirm this behaviour on other machines or is it just my mac?

After talking with Apple Support here's what they said:
"This is due to the pull on the Quartz Extreme for the video card, I have the same issue."
To be honest I never thought a progress bar would have such an impact on a 256MB ATI X1600...
