I just did an Archive and install, and all apears well....but

The Receipts folder in my new system does not have receipts for many of the apps which were installed before the A & I, and are still installed and working fine. There are 88 receipts in my previous system receipts folder, and only 36 in the new one. For example there are no iLife or iWork recepts in the new folder.

I have had advice to transfer all the missing receipts from the previous system folder, but if this was an essential part of the Archive and Install process, surely it would be documented somewhere. I have read Apple KB articles on A & I and Receipts and Googled without seeing any info about this.

Thanks very much for any help

Mike

iLife and iWork are separate apps with separate installers. They're not part of the OS, so they won't get receipts from running the OS installers. You could either run the installer again, or just copy over the receipts from the old system.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

You don't need the receipts from iLife or any other third party apps.

Thanks for the inputs. I think I'll just copy them across, even though not essential.
