DVD burn only at 2x?

Every time i burn a DVD in finder i can't get more than 2x speed. I-m using a DVD-r 8x media.
When i used iDVD it burned at 8x a DVD project.
Any help?

Some drives don't like, or just don't know about, specific media. When this is the case, they normally default to a slow burn speed.

You might want to try a few brands to find one your drive likes better.

You should post the computer model and the drive model (find it in System Profiler) so people can help.

i have a 14" ibook/ 1,42Ghz/ 512 ram/ 60GB HD/ superdrive (MATSHITADVD-R)
