I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I've tried to google, and do searches with no luck..
Why is it that certain songs/albums don't come up on itunes?
For example.. AC/DC, Men At Work, Brian Adams but to name 3 artists..
Then there is the Queensryche "Empire" album missing songs? what is the cause of this?
Rights? Anyone know what the big deal is?

Licensing problems. Either the bands in question don't want their music on iTunes for some reason or (much more likely) there is some issue with the licensing of their music that makes it difficult. I was about to say that Brian Adams is in fact on iTunes (since I know I saw his "Best Of" album there a couple of months ago), but now he's gone. Why? Who knows. Maybe a contract or someone's rights to the music catalog expired. It's all quite complicated, really. When iTunes first came out, they had the Radiohead catalog, but that quickly disappeared when (apparently) someone realized that they didn't have the rights to the catalog.

Just like the Brian Adams example.. I recall the BeeGees were on there, but now they're gone... I wish Apple would at least tell you when you search for a band, that "We no longer have their music do to licensing" or something.. Thanks for confirming my suspicions..

How is it that people don't understand the difference between "Mac OS X" and "iTunes?"
Wrong forum.
