hi

I have two versions of the OS9.1 installer cd

- one says (For Powermac g4) and is english language

- one says (iMac) and and is in italian language

when I use the english cd and initialise the hard drive to do a clean install - it works fine

however when I initialise and start to install with the italian cd - it says the hard disk is damaged

I can't see why one works and other doesn't - any ideas anyone?

I really need to install the Italian OS - does anyone know a place to get hold of mac os 8 or 9.1 in various languages?

I can't understand this

now every HD I try and format gives an error message (either when initialsing the disk or while installing os9 (with either of the os9.1 cds)

I have tried replacing the ata cable

(I'm using a blue and white powermac to format hard drives - no other usb devices attached except original keyboard & mouse)
