I decided to try out filevault on my intel iMac a few days ago. It took a couple hours to encrypt and securely delete everything, and since then it's been fine. However, yesterday filevault asked me if I wanted to reclaim disk space, and I said sure!
Well, 24hrs have gone by and it's *still* reclaiming disk space. That's a pretty long operation for such a speedy machine. Does it normally take this long? If not, do you have any suggestions on safely canceling the operation without toasting everything?
