Im on an iMac G5, 2Ghz with 1 Gb ram running 10.4.6.
After an application froze I rebooted (been a while).
When it came back up again all looked good until the finder suddenly re-launched.
And it kept at it! It does it about every 3 seconds or faster. I have tried to hold down alt + apple + P + R, reboot a million times and all that.
The problem is user specific. I share this box with my wife and it’s all-good on her side. So not hardware (I guess)?
I got hold of the crash log and I searched for the error, but as you might have guessed, I found no good solution.
HELP ME! I’m having abstinences … I need me mac! :-)
E are some logs:

Do you by any chance have any item in our desktop?, if so, try to move it to another folder or move it to the Trash.
Sure, it sounds like a silly suggestion, but I have read about similar issues where doing that, did help.

While in your wife's side, download 'applejack' here: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19596 and install. Try rebooting in your user holding down Command-S as you do it. You should see a black screen with light text, at the bottom you will see the applejack text, type applejack,. hit return and then run the task numbers 1, 2, 3, 5 following the instructions which will also show you how to restart. If you can't boot at all in your user, try doing the same thing from your wife's side.

What happens if you hold the shift key down as you log in to your account (to disable any third party log-in apps and clear the font and other caches)?
My guess would be that you have a third party contextual menu item, installed in your account only, that is the source of the problem. What do you have in ~/Library/Contextual Menu Items?
If anything, move them to the desktop and log out then back in to see if that solves the problem.
P.S. When posting your crash logs, include the list of installed frameworks at the end as this can help people spot third-party hacks or software that is incompatible with the version of the OS you are running.

Btw, if you are contemplating upgrading to 10.4.6 at any time, uninstall Version Cue before you do - it is incompatible with 10.4.6 and causes a lot of problems.
