What images does OS X support mounting? Of course I know of .dmg but it seems as OS X recognizes .img as well.

So I tried mounting an .img file in the finder by double clicking on it and nothing happened. Then I opened the .img file with disk utility and from there I choosed to mount the image and it mounted but it wouldn't show up in finder. I've checked the preferences in finder to show all volumes. So I opened up terminal and browsed into /Volumes and there it was mounted.

Probably a bug... The finder should mount the same thing as disk utility I guess... Try to relaunch the Finder when this happens, the mounted image will probably show up.

Okay but what about the other images that OS X supports?
