Anyone have any links to tutorials on using arguments in shell scripts.

man ksh is a good tutorial, you need to know about :

$# which is the argument count.
$@ which contains all the arguments you got at launch.
shift that move one ragument out
and $0 which is you script name.

whith that you'll be able to achieve most of the needed things.
