I run memtest and get the following line (one of many)

setting 49 of 64 FireWire(OHCI)Apple ID 52 built-in: no valid self IDs for more than 2 minutes after bus reset.

what the.........I thought this was looking for bad ram but how does FireWire have anything to do with this. I personally think that there is a motherboard issue and if this is a FireWire bus issue then why would it show itself in the test?.............I have also noticed bad memory access during open firmware testing. I've tested my ram too many times and there's nothing wrong. Any thoughts...........thanks

I get that same message in Console on my TiBook (1st model from 2001). Doesn't seem to affect anything as far as I can tell. It does sound ominous though.

I have also noticed invalid memory access messages when runing the openfirmware test AND there a slow downs when using my system (it take 5 or 6 seconds for a folder to expand or the hard drive to open).
