My Tiger Install DVD shows the Archive and Install feature but will not let me select this button. Instead, it allows only Clean Install or Install OS X for the first time. The former seems too risky and the latter is not true—and so risky as well.

I have an external backup drive coming in the mail. Maybe I could just load Tiger onto the backup and go from there.

Comments? Suggestions?

Thanks!
Britten

what previous OS did you have on your mac?

if you had OS9 or an old ver. of OSX, or none at all, it wont let you do it.
