I have a second hard drive in my G5 which has apparently failed. It doesn't pass Disk Utility's Verify or Repair disk operations. How could a second drive fail (instead of the first!)?

So, now I need to get in there somehow and get the info off of the drive. Here are the errors:

Checking HFS Plus volume.
Invalid key length
Invalid key length
Catalog file entry not found for extent
Volume check failed.

Is there another software program that will let me get in and pull data off?

DiskWarrior is always good to fix major disk errors. Any drive can go bad at any time (it doesn't matter if it's the first or second one).

There are actually three (3) programs to go with related to hard disks:
1. DiskWarrior
2. DiskWarrior
3. DiskWarrior

The freakin drive is only worth about 20 bucks! Why pay $80 for Disk Warrior to save a $20 drive? For that cost, I'll just go out and buy a new drive. And it only has an incorrect size error which prevents it from being mounted. I know this is a quick fix and the drive will work correctly, but come one people. $80 for Disk Warrior??? Forgetaboutit.

I disagree completely with you: it's not about the price of the harddisk itself, but about important files which might get inaccessible or lost, and the time you loose to get them back or reproduce them. DiskWarrior is priceless.

Hard drives come and go, DiskWarrior is forever. Very cheap insurance in case the problem is software related, as opposed to a physically crashed drive.
