I am helpless.

I have a question. We've been struggling with a few cross platform Mail-related attachment viewing problems for a while now - we even paid a joker money to try to solve them (no dice.)

So, I am hoping it's a common problem you know the answer to (off the top of your head.)

The first issue is that we want to image in the signature does not show up as an embedded image when mail goes to a PC (it comes through as a GIF attachment.)

The second issue is that any forwarded message comes thru (to PC users) as an HTML attachment instead of being directly below the new portion of the message.

We've tested and confirmed the above phenomena on Outlook running on XP Pro. Not sure if it is the case on other e-mail clients or on other versions Windows.

Neither of these things used to happen. Both happen 100% of the time now.

Help me. I am helpless.

Thanks so much.

Which version of Mail are you using?

Don't use images in the signature. It is not polite. Imagine someone is in e-mail correspondance with you and wants to keep the mails on file. That person would then have several copies of your signature image which are of absolutely no use for him. If you then think that one could have thousands of e-mails in archives you understand why one doesn't use image signatures.

Try Mail->Preferences->Composing and select Message Format: "Plain Text" and uncheck Responding: "Use the same message format as the original message".
