I've got two seperate issues, but combined them into one to save some hassle for myself and others:

1. When I reboot and my Finder opens automatically, it's not centered in the middle of my screen, it's off to one side and moving it won't make it open in the middle.

2. My icons in the menu bar often disappear or move around the menu bar. For instance my Bluetooth disappeared once and I had to re-enable it and about half the time I reboot their order is messed up...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bump? I'd have thought these to be simple problems...

Hi Shawn,

It sounds like some corrupt preference files or something, although I don't know if there is one thing that governs all the menu items. Perhaps you could try repairing permissions using Disk Utility?

For the Finder window: Open a new one, and without opening any folders or anything like that, move it to your desired position and then close it. This *should* save the position (and the next window you open will be in the same spot). If not, then, maybe it's a preference problem or something.
