Anyone know if it is possible to schedule a time for the display to go to sleep, and then wake back up without sleeping the whole machine?

thanks,

A quick Google/versiontracker search didn't reveal any possible solutions. Why exactly do you want this to happen? Would it be possible just to set a short delay so display sleep activates right after you leave?

I have a machine that I setup with multiple displays that is in a common area that displays usefull info during the day. It also runs various background things, so the machine can't be put to sleep, but I don't want the displays running 24/7 when they only need to be on 9 hours a day. Having the someone manually sleep the display's is not an option, so I need a way to automate it.

Wonder if you could make an Applescript or something. I don't know enough to know if that's possible, but it should be.

scheduling a screen saver might work as well (image persistence is the problem)

anyone know of any screen savers that can be scheduled?
