Yeah, probably one for one system and the second for the backup. That makes the most sense.

There are two systems under the desk... note when they were demoing Time Machine with iPhoto and iPhoto wasn't working, he reached across the desk and switched the system connected to the keyboard/mouse/display/projector.

Microsoft could learn a thing or two from Apple about doing smooth live presentations.

iSights are FireWire based. I don't even know if there is any KVM switch out there that supports FireWire switching. So, they have to have an iSight directly connected to each Mac.

Unknown what was under the desk, but most likely both were a Mac Pro.

There are, but perhaps FireWire hotswapping is dodgy in the build of Leopard being used. I don't recall prior keynotes having two iSights.

Yeah, and they could learn something from Apple about getting the right person to do the presentation. Hint: The awkward nerd who works in the engineering department is not the person who should be doing your presentations.

I thought Bill Gates worked a little higher up than that!

For now, he does. He demotes himself when there are lawsuits. The next one will put him in the mail room. "Director of Creative Mail Routing"

Seriously, though, I was speaking of the most-recent keynote, where some guy who looked like an engineer or product manager was doing the presentation. Gates will unveil the product, however. It will be some time in 2010, though, if the current delays are any indication. (And now I sound like a fanboy. I should be posting this on Digg.com instead.)
