HI,
Title says it,
I have lost the ability to display files from my desktop in Tiger, I have the files in the User~Desktop directory, but they are NOT visible on my desktop ?
If I save to Desktop the new file does save into the User Desktop Directory, but doesn't show on the Desktop.
Very strange
Help!
Thanks

If you go to the desktop and create a new folder there, does it show up? And does it show up in the Desktop directory?

No it didn't, it was very strange.
I have fixed it now, using Onyx to clear all System caches file, so I guess it was just confused
Cheers

When there is a mismatch between what's in the folder and what appears on the Desktop, it can be cured by relaunching the Finder. You could use the force-quit command to restart the Finder, but it's better to quit it properly.
Use Onyx to add the Quit command to the Finder's menu. Quit, then restart by clicking the Finder's icon in the Dock.

Hi,
The Accounts pane in system preferences is missing. I tried to delete ~/library/caches/com.apple.preferencepanes.cache and rebooted the machine, but it still is missing. Do you have any other suggestions.
Thanks,
yeshe

I forgot to tell you that I am working on a G5 tower running Tiger. We just installed Tiger a few months ago from a stand alone application.
Thanks
