I just made a backup using carbon copy cloner. When I tried to check the backup and boot from the firewire drive, everything went fine until the login screen. There, it asked for a username and password. I tried all combinations that I know and none of them worked. Why does the backup ask for this and my internal drive not? And how do I get rid of it, or find the password?

I would try booting from your internal drive first, then mount the firewire drive and see if you have access. It sounds like there is a user account issue involved.

I went to the apple store and the genius helped me find out that it wasn't seeing any users on the backup. Any reason why?
