Please can anyone help!
This is what happened. I was putting a WPA password on my Belkin wireless router on my 1.8Ghz G5 OS X.4.7. When I had it set, I went to the airport symbol on the top of my desktop and the 'beachball' was spinning. I tried force quitting and relaunching the finder to no avail. I restarted, but the G5 didnt boot entirely. I'm missing the clock on the bar on the top of the desktop and am also missing the airport icon that should be there too. When I try and select the 'network' option in system prefs, the system prefs start with the beachball thing. I can't get into my airport or network prefs and safari won't connect to the internet.
I ran Ony (disk permissions etc.) and rebooted. I connected my macbook via target disk and ran disk utility on the G5s hard drive and the result showed no problems.
What else can I do? The G5 is working fine in every other way.... its like the networking part of the OS didn't launch at startup?!
Has anyone got any ideas? Is there a system pref I could delete or anything else I can try? Please, any suggestions woul be apreciated!
Thanks in advance!
