Ive been asked to repost this here:
ve had my MP for 3 weeks initially I loved it soooooo much

now is really slowed down

many threads point to RAM look those over

1gb is nbot enough even running onluy INtel progs.

after my two moerr come Ill see

but some think that Migration assistant is a contributing factor to slow performance.

is it? how can it be if you are not migrating a lot of PCC progs?
doe it put those files in the most awkward of places?
Hard to find them?

I have a 16MB buffred HD 500GB I moved over to as that was supposed to help
Ill do what reasonable after my 2 GB ram gets here to get really really good performance.

Ill fork over for 2 GB more if need be

but MA? what the real story with that?

cheers

I haven't had any problems moving my stuff over the course of several computers (iBook 500 > iBook 600 > iBook 800 > PowerBook G4 667 > PowerBook G4 1.25 > ProBook 2.0) with no hiccups whatsoever.

If your hardware is ok, then one of the culprits might be Rosetta.

PS It would help if you would spend some more time to create a more readable post.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Im assumiing my problems are RAM I have 2gb comming tomorrow from Kingston. they do not have the super super duper heat sinks but are much cheaper than Crucial and they are available and Crucials are not

Im assuming that MA just puts all the junk is some sort of order and then its RAM being the slowdown

will let you know

cheers and thanks

Wow, you really hate grammar and punctuation.

Even if Migration Assistant put all the junk somewhere, that wouldn't use any RAM until it was running. If you don't see any PowerPC applications running in Activity Monitor, then they are not the problem.
