Hi, I have had this irritating problem with my system for the past few days. When I try to select something or click on an icon, there will be a black framed box appearing around the selected item.

Other than that, the Finder menus contain duplicates of certain items.

This is extremely annoying and I would appreciate it if someone could enlighten me as to what exactly is going wrong with my computer. Thanks in advance for the help.

Below are some examples of the problem I am facing. All possible solutions to these problems are greatly welcomed.

You've inadvertently turned on Voice-Over, by accidentally hitting command-F5, would be my guess. Turn it off in the Universal Access Preference Pane.

Do you use Quark? A lot of people turn on VoiceOver when they mean to bring something to the front.

Someone should make a sticky about this.

I'm all thumbs. I've hit it so many times now, I've gotten it memorized.
