Hi.

Ok, I'm still a bit mac clumsy as i have only recently converted

I need to know how to do a full system restore. I just sold my macbook to fund my new imac, but need to restore my macbook to its original settings and wipe everything i had on there so the person who bought it has a fresh install...
Any help would be much appreciated..

Thanks

Put the MacBook system software disc in, restart holding C, then select Erase and Install.

It is safer to erase using the Zero-all-blocks option. Otherwise, the buyer might be able to retrieve some of your files using disk-repair utilities.

If you do zero it out, be sure to plug into AC power first, because that type of erase will take a really long time.

I recommend this type of erase (or format) before a sale. The time required is preferable to their being able to retrieve your CC number, or SSN, or your library of revealing gf pictures.
