Ever since upgrading to to iTunes 7 and Quicktime 7.1.3, I'm getting pops/clicks from my audio output. These mostly manifest themselves at the beginning or end of sounds. It's driving me crazy. The sound in World of Warcraft exhibits the same problem.
I even here them before and after the startup chime.
It almost sounds like clocking-errors to me. An example of the pops/clicks would be if you go to the Audio Midi Setup application and change the Clock Source from "Internal" to "External" you'll hear a little pop/click/glitch as the clock switches -- that's the sound I'm hearing at the beginning/end of sounds.
I'm on a Powermac G5 Dual-2.5 btw, with Logitech (analog) speakers. All system software is 100% up to date as of this posting. (10.4.8, etc.)
Any help or assistance would be appreciated. If I need to put down some more information just let me know. I've already tried zapping the pram, resetting open firmware, and trashing audio/quicktime/itunes prefs.
Thanks!
