Currently we (at work) have around 30 machines, each with local users and user spaces.
We're looking to move to network based home directories and logins (we have OS X Server all set up) - how hard is it to migrate to this? We'd need to move all the data from the local machines to the server and such, is there an automated way of doing this?
Thanks!

No automated way AFAIK - you'll probably need to create the accounts in Open Directory, copy the files over using Target Disk Mode or AFP, then chown them on the server so the permissions are correct.

Why not create the network home directories, have the users login into the server and mount the drive, and then have them drag their data over to the server side? It's a good learning experience for the end user on learning how to back-up their own data.
Oh, and check-out Passenger v3.5.9...

thats a great idea rickey and it'll save me tons of time
Can i migrate some users to workgroup manager, and leave others running on local machines? So I can have a few test machines and ensure everything works then set it up on the office machines?

Yes, and I would advise doing that for testing purposes.
