System freezes after leaving google video on for a while

I realized for several times that after I visited Google Video using Safari (+saft) and left the windows open for a while (say 1 hour), the password pretection window failed to show up (it does every time i wake up the screen). The cursor turned into spinning wheel and it stayed like that forever. Any idea?
