If I add a second display, will I have the option to rotate it in Display Preferences? I've looked online and some users seem to suggest not...

10.4.4

Thanks

First of all, update OS X to 10.4.8. Tiger wasn't able to rotate monitors very well until 10.4.6. And yes you will be able to rotate it just fine.

depends on the hardware i think.. My 12" 1.5ghz PB wouldn't let me rotate, whereas my MacBook does.
we don't have time to stop for gas

Only if you have an ATI graphics chipset in your machine (and only if its a Radeon 8500 Pro or newer).
nVidia chips (at least with Apple's drivers) don't support display rotation.

I wish I could rotate the MBP's built-in screen as well as the external one.

What hardware are you using?

Some graphics card support rotating displays and some do not.

I've got a 9600 in a Dual 2 G5 and I'm already rotating one display successfully. I just wondered if I'd have the option to rotate a second one and have them standing side-by-side.

Thanks
