i have 10.4.8 and if i leave my mac on screensaver for a while (plugged in with sleep set to never), the thing sometimes turns off.....

idk why this is happening. it has never turned off while using it...only during long periods of no use

have you looked in energy prefs to stop it sleeping? are you sure it has shutdown and not gone into deep sleep?

mbp 15" 2.16

and i know its not sleeping considering my taskbar and widgets have to reload. when it goes to sleep and i 'wake' it, i am greeted with a black background and dialog box to log in. when it restarts it does what i stated earlier and is the blue screen u get when u turn the thing on...

it could be overheating then. have you tried plugging it in to the wall? the battery might be faulty /loose. have you tried taking out the battery and putting it back in again?

it is plugged in when this happens and never very warm. my mbp doesnt run very hot and spends most of its time on an ilap.
