Most likely a memory leak. OS X can get them just as easily as Windows.

It's only using about 20mb on my systems. I've never noticed a memory leak in it during the many months I've used it.

20MB is still a lot for a small program (widget in this case).

Not really when you consider that each widget is essentially a web browser. Also, this is a couple of weeks of uptime and the caching that goes with it. All my widgets are using about 20mb and I have 8 running right now. With a fresh launch, they vary from 6-10mb.

You didn't ask about an alternative, but here's a suggestion: Meteorologist (not a widget) which sits nicely up in the menubar, and it's drop-down menu lets me check the present conditions and forecasts of the 5 cities I keep track of. It's using 21 MB, but no CPU until it refreshes.

You're clearly having a lot of weather.

One vote against meteorologist. I tried a zip code search, a city name search and placing the weather page url in the search box (as it suggested) and it consistently came back with 'No Matching Cities Found.' Really? You can't find Atlanta, GA using any of the above methods? When WeatherPop has been working fine? No thank you...

Sad to say, but Q is correct, searching for cities seems to be broken in Meteorologist. Seems like weather.com has invalidated the links that allowed Meteorologist to lookup cities. Possibly they didn't want all the server activity?

It's open-source now, don't know how long it will take to restore the functionality...
