Hello again!

I have a G4 iMac, am currently running OS 10.4 and want to upgrade. I'm on dialup, so I've been doing downloads at night (it sometimes take 17 hours). My problem is that I've downloaded 10.4.8, but it won't mount. It says it's not recognized. I've downloaded it twice in case the first was corrupt or something. Is there any way I can get this on a CD and install from that?? Does Apple sell upgrades? Would it cost money, or be free, like the download?

Hi, just to get this straight, you have downloaded the combo updater for PPC from this url:

Apple - Support - Downloads - Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update (PPC) ? You can't just use the normal updater which only takes from .7 to .8 If you are near an Apple Store I'm pretty sure they'll burn you a DVD.

Hi, the disk I purchased was for 10.4. And yes, I downloaded the 10.4.8 Combo Update PPC.

I can't go from .7 to .8 because I have 10.4. And unfortunately I'm in a VERY rural area. We can't even get cable out here. The nearest Apple Store would be about a 3 hour's drive and I have a very ill husband who I can't leave alone for more than about 2 hours.
