I have a 15" Powerbook at the office with Panther OS. I have a problem with it.
The problem is that when I execute the application inside the dmg for the printer it asks for the user password. When I enter the password it says that the password is incorrect. The password is the correct one, I know for sure, there are no other users on the Powerbook and there is not set a Master password. I have tried to change the password and it works, except when I try to install this driver it says that the password is incorrect.
What can I do?

I haven't seen the printer thread and "the application inside the dmg" is kind of vague, but sometimes applications do not run from within a disk image. Did you try copying the application to your hard drive first before running it?
If that doesn't help you might provide more details.

By "application inside the dmg" I mean the application inside the disk image as u stated. I copied the application inside the application folder and it is still not working. I don't know why it doesn't recognize the password.
The printer model is HP Laser Jet 2420, and it is conectedd in our LAN switch at the office. I want to install it on a Panther OS 15" Powerbook. Also I would like the installation to be on IP printing protocol. When I add this printer I can see her and the IP is recognized.

The thing is that the printer model Laser Jet 2420 in not in the "Printer Model" list on this Powerbook.
And of course when I try to install this printer driver it doesn't recognise the admin password of the computer which works fine everywhere else.

Try creating a new admin account in the System Preferences->Accounts control panel. Log into that account and install the printer driver from there. Maybe that works. I have no idea why it would not accept your password.

Typically when you are prompted for a password that's because the app is writing a file to the library folder (or other system related directories). I'd recommend that you copy the program to your desktop or applications folder before attempting to execute.
Because the dmg is readonly I've seen issues that are similar to what you're describing but once I copied to the hard drive and ran, those problems disappeared.

Tetenal said something like this. I dragged the application from the disk image into the applications folder and like I said it doesn't work. I haven't seen something like this before. I am thinking, maybe it could be because of some library files who are corrupted or something. The thing is that this printer was once installed on this Powerbook and was ok until 2 weeks ago.
