I don't know how I did it but my HD icon on my desktop now has an arrow in the lower left corner of the icon. Clicking INFO it tells me it is an alias. My other HD was unharmed and it does not have the arrow and it says it is a Volume.

How can I make things the way they were. For instance, I click on desktop and it now shows that the HD is on the desktop. It use to not be listed under the desktop.

I don't know what happened but it fixed itself. The HD icon just popped up without an arrow. I dragged the one with the arrow to the trash and things are back to normal.
