Does anyone know if there is a program like Clean Slate for Macs?

(Clean Slate is a program that restores your computer to a preset configuration upon reboot or logoff.)
If not is there a way to lock down the icons on the desktop?

Lock down in what way? You can lock the desktop folder (i.e. read only)
I free'd my mind... now it won't come back.
