My G4 just displayed an error message I've never heard of, which included such phrases as "corrupt stack," "exception state (SV=OX26B12000)" and "backtrace terminated," among other things. I believe I also saw "CPU=0" as wedll.
This is a 6-year-old gigabit ethernet G4. It originally had a 400 MZ processor, which I upgraded several years ago to a 933 MZ (Sonnet, I think). I did a little reserach and this seems to be something that could be anything. Last weekend, Excel started behaving bizarrly and I eventually discovered it wasn't Excel, scrolling endlessly to the right, it was any computer screen that went beyond the limits of the monitor. This eventually was traced to my mouse, a wirless 1000 laser from Logitech. I moved the cradle from the hub (2 months old) to my Dell monitor and the behavior stopped.
Now this. I have NO idea what this is about. I'd repaired permissions and run disk utility last week, after the other strange behavior. After I finish up some things, I think I'll run Disk Warrior.
In the meantime, anyone have any thoughts? Causes? Hardware? Bad peripherals? Is my computer about to die? (Which would bring up a whole other discussion on imac vs. Mac Pro, but I'll save that for now.)
