Hello,

I currently live in Washington, DC...but I am moving to San Francisco, CA at teh end of the year for my new job. Over the last 5 years at my current place, I have amassed over 75GB of music and video in my itunes collection. I would like to know of any utilities that may aide me in transferring over all this stuff. I do not want to lose my playlists that I have created. Is there anyone who can give a fellow a helping hand other then doing a mass file-dump via firewire from one machine to another.

Why not a file dump? Assuming you are have iTunes manage your collection, iTunes Music Library.xml is the only relevant file for keeping track of your playlists. So...

1. Copy over ~/Music/iTunes.
2. There is no step 2.

There is a step 2 - deathorize you music, if you are not going to use it on that machine any more.
