I guess the title says it all. The cursor sometimes disappears on my OSX 10.3.9. I can still click things, the functionality isn't affected, but the cursor becomes invisiblle. This obviously drastically limits usage, since I can't see the arrow and don't know what I'm clicking at. When this happens the only thing left to do is restart the computer, which fixes the problem.

This usually happens after prolonged use. It's very odd though. Not a huge deal but it's annoying. Would like to hear some thoughts on this strange phenomenon.

Thanks

Does it happen in every app? one thing to try and re-set it would be to change your monitor resoultion.

That might bring it back after it goes away.

Does it go away when in Safari and on a page with a flash file? I have had that do odd things too.

It happens regardless of the app. I can't really pin point exactly what causes it, but I know that it happens when the my PB has been on for a very long time. I noticed that it happens when I wake the PB form sleep, or when I switch from two screen mode back to the PB screen. Those are two instances that I noticed cause the disappearance.

So you say change the resolution? That sounds like it might work. I'll try that next time it happens, if I can manage it with not seeing the cursor.

Thanks.

I don't know why this works but it seems to on my computer. I'll be typing things in word and on the web on my Mac 10.4 and the cursor will just go away. For some reason, if I put my finger right in the middle of the track pad, and then scratch the track pad, it will bring the cursor out of hiding. Try it, II'm curious if that works for you.

I could see how the pointer could disappear due to changing displays, although that should not happen. Have you tried going into sleep mode for a bit and then waking it up?

It's supposed to do that, the feature is called `hide cursor while typing' on Windows.
