Is there any way to recover deleted jpg files that are no longer in the recycle bin. I have been scanning in slides going back to 1978 and after correcting them in Photoshop imported them into iphoto. I then deleted the originals believing them to be safe in iphoto. I have now found that these are mearly aliases and I would desparately like to recover the jpgs. Am I stuffed?

you've checked all the folders in the iphoto library?

you could try a program like Data Rescue,
but...
DONT DO anything else with your mac UNTIL you run the app.
you increase the chances of losing stuff..

good luck...!

AFAIK, iPhoto always makes copies, not aliases, so the photos should be in your iPhoto Library. Do they show up in the iPhoto application itself?

With that said, yeah, if you want to recover files, don't use the computer at all, and run Data Rescue as soon as possible (you can download it from http://www.prosofteng.com/, but you should obviously do it on another computer).

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
