Hey, i am colour blind, and i can not see, black on white, and white on black too well. is their any way i can change the menu bars text colours with out inverting the colours (ctrl, alt, apple, and 8) so i can change the text to blue, so i can read it better. I was told i might need to get a third party software.

If you can help a fellow mac user out, it would be a great help to me, thanks

You could "calibrate" the display's colour profile using the System Preferences>Display>Colour preferences to shift the hue of the screen to e.g. make black text more blue (I would recommend downloading SuperCal for finer control). Other than that, I don't believe there is a way to do this without hacking the system.

I am a student, so i cant really afford to download and pay for supercal. The "calibrate" didnot really work that well, due to changing other colours

Check out Unsanity's Shapeshifter. It does a bit more than just what you want, but I don't think there's any competition in the area right now.

It's Shareware. You can download and try it for no cost. If you don't like what it does or it doesn't work for you, don't pay. Saying that, it will probably suffer the same problem as the built-in calibration method (it will affect all blacks, not just the menu bar text), only you will have finer control over things so you might be able to reach a happy medium. However, most likely, you will need to use a system hack for the current version of the OS.
