As mentioned in another post, I deleted some files which appeared in my apps folder which I didn't recognize. The result was that after rebooting the ibook wouldn't run saying it was missing files or something.
Have done a re-install, but the startup screen gives me either sleep, restart or shutdown, and of course the icon with my name on it. I click it and it asks me for my password. However, it doesn't accept the password. The hint comes up telling me that it is my password that I use, but again no go.

What next?

Thanks

You can boot from the system DVD and when the installer comes up choose the password utility from the Utilities menu to reset the password.

Thanks, it worked, however, now when trying to run software update past this 10.3.2 os, it again asks for my password, and when I type in the pass it's again not accepted. What is going on? Well at least now I can back up everything and do a clean install, but this is weird.

I reset it using the old password. No matter, did a clean install and all is fine.
