Hi, here is my situation.

I am going to connect an old backup drive to my new iMac, and I know that Spotlight will start to index it once it's connected. My question is whether it is SAVE to add the drive volumes to the Privacy tab when Spotlight is indexing the volumes for the first time? Would it have any side effects with my system Spotlight other than not having indexes for the backup drive?

Thanks.
