i have a pc running xp pro....can i install OSX on it?

Nah, that's why it's called Mac OS X.
Some people have hacked 10.4 to install on some specific kinds of PCs, but even then it doesn't work quite right — and it's software piracy, which this forum doesn't support.

Since the license agreement for Mac OS X requires that it run on Apple hardware, trying to use it on PC hardware (even if you buy another copy) is technically illegal, so we don't allow discussion of it here.
