Hi all,

Newbie(ish) here to mac - so please excuse me if I ask simple questions. Rest assured I've looked in the help files and done some google searches before each post, though.

OK - Finder - I like the list view. I know I can click the simple icon at the top of the finder window to change it from the default icone view - but how do I get every window to default to list view? At the momet I have to manually click each window - surely there has to be a default setting to overide icon view somewhere? I've looked in the preferences but couldn't see it.

Thanks all.

Close all open Finder windows. Open a new finder window. Do not click any of the content in the window. Set the view to List view. Close the window. All new windows should now open in List view.

Crappy Finder hasn't been consistent since OS 9. As much as OS X is better than OS 9, the Finder blows. Hopefully it will have received a major overhaul in 10.5.

One can only hope.
