Hi.

I have a question about how OS X organises the workflow of folders.

One thing that I've noticed, is that when I open, for example, my Applications folder, scroll along to a particular application/folder I want, load what I need, and close the folder; the next time that I open my Applications folder, it has automatically scrolled along to where I last launched an application from.

I'd prefer the folder to reset, and show me its contents from the beginning each time I open it.

Is there a way to change the way OS X manages this?

You've described it correctly and no I'm not aware of any simple method to disable the behaviour. Presumably the settings are stored in the .DS_Store file within the folder but deleting or removing the scroll position automatically each time you leave the folder sounds quite difficult. Another option is to perhaps change your workflow. I have my applications folder in the Dock, right click and there are all your apps and it starts at the top of the list every time.

Although, I wonder if somehow making the DS_Store file read-only in the Applications folder would solve it? Or, would this cause other problems?
