I have an old g3 imac that I purchased for my young child. where can I get 10.2 or 10.3 to install on it. I'm new to macs so please help.

I got 10.3 for my wife's old iMac G3 from

AppleRescue | Mac Operating Systems & Technical Manuals

where the prices are quite low and they send universal new install CD's, which is what you need.

I'm curious about that site.

According to McAfee, one reviewer said it sells burnt copy of Mac OS.

that review was written back in october. somehow i think if anyone was selling burned copies of tiger from a web site from massachusetts apple would be all over them like a rat on cheese. having said that i have no idea if they are legit.

Check out the LowEndMac Swap group, there are always people there selling legit copies of OS 10.2 and 3

That was a post by some random individual who is not identified and who has no history of accuracy or of other posts by that site. He says, without offering any proof or confirming data, that they (AppleRescue) sell "burned" copies of the OS. I bought a 10.3.9 universal install set of CD's from them and they look the same as the ones that come from Apple.
