Is it possible to maximise the window to the full screen by just one click like in windows.
Because in OS X 10.4 that I played with in the shop did maximise only upto certain level.
It was maximised fully verically , but didnt on the horizontally..

Unless there's some secret way, you'd just have to drag the window all the way to the left side, then drag the bottom-right corner until it fills up the screen.
I wouldn't necessary do this, however. IMO, it's to a degree counterproductive.

Here is a plugin (SIMBL) that will allow OS X windows to act like their counterparts on windows.
Stoplight 1.1 Bugs - InsanelyMac Forum
You can set windows to maximize, and/or close out as windows behave inside Windows.
It is a 'hack' plugin of sorts, and you'll need to download SIMBL to use this plugin. (Instructions are in the zip) Be warned that you will experience problems with some programs, so if a program crashes while closing/maximizing, use the prefpane to exclude that certain app.

In Windows, the windows represent an entire application. In OS X, they represent documents.
When you maximize a window in Windows, what you're actually doing is maximizing the app, giving it the ability to put stuff anywhere on the screen, making its menubar stretch all the way across the top of the screen, and so forth. In this sense, your apps are always maximized on OS X. It's the document windows that aren't, but then again it would be inefficient if they were.

You should just try to get acquainted with OS X' style of working with windows. You end up doing a lot more multitasking than you'd typically do with windows (because one app covers the whole screen).

That feature is strictly available for Leopard.

FYI, I fixed the typo in the thread title. I couldn't figure out what "naximize" meant...

It looks like you can use stoplight or megazoomer, not both at once. I've been using stoplight for a while now and find it pretty useful. For anyone on a laptop it's a big plus. Also, to those saying that you should not maximise because it cuts down on multi-tasking, this hasn't been an issue since the advent of Exposé.

Exposé helps somewhat, yes, but it's still nice to be able to see more than one thing on the screen at a time. Especially if you have a huge screen like my 20" iMac - I can't imagine having each app hog the whole screen on this monitor.

Sorry, but it made my head hurt, and these forums are supposed to not cause damage to the users, so I HAD to change it!
