So I came back to my 17" Powerbook G4 at night, only to discover that the display was really messed up. All the colors looked severely underexposed, or overexposed, or something — definitely not normal. During a restart, I discovered that my desktop picture would come up normally at the beginning, but as soon as the finder finished launching, it would go back to the weird color format. After trying the usual suspects (messing with System Preferences, restarting a bunch, launching w/out startup apps, installing the newest version of OS X, etc.), I did something else: I made a new user profile, logged out, and logged in as that. Lo and behold, the display colors were perfectly fine in this new profile. This makes me feel a little reassured, since it's obviously not a hardware problem. But what sort of software problem, if any, could be causing these problems in my main account?
This is all very bizarre, and any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
