i've just today started having a problem of movie dvd's not being recognized when interted.

cd's and burned data dvd's mount fine, but commercial or burned dvd's containing a movie will not mount from either the internal dvd drive or the external burner (pretty sure it's not a hardware issue). i get the following:

they worked ok a couple weeks ago, no system changes. i've run disk permissions and the daily/weekly/monthly tasks.

G4 gig ethernet, 1.2 ghz sonnett, 1.25g ram.

any ideas?

bump...

have also found that when booted into open firmware, the disks are not ejected.

DVD's mount and play fine under OS9 and OSX 10.4.2, but 10.4.8 continues to not recognize them...
