I have exactly the same message appearing in my console.log. DId you end up resolving this issue or is it still dangling out there waiting for someone to reply?

My logs read:

2007-02-06 21:45:33.036 SyndicationAgent[495] WARNING: BestCalendarDateFromString - can't interpret: 'Tue 06 Feb 2007 18:20:01 -800'

etc...

you will get error messages in the console, and none of them will affect you.

I am trying to narrow down the cause of a recent series of errors on the server and have been unable to locate anything in the logs that stands out.

The message in the console log says WARNING so I wanted to find out what it meant. I am not familiar with the SyndicationAgent and am not sure what process if any is this item's parent. I cannot locate it using top or sudo ps -cx or Activity Monitor.

Regards,

General Ludd

I just made a fresh installation of Mac OSX 10.8 and I get the following messages in the console :
No wonder you're having date problems! You're using a version of Mac OS X that's not supposed to be out for another 6-8 years!

Tell me. What are they on now? Lion? Onyx?

IIRC SyndicationAgent is used by Safari to read RSS feeds. The error you're getting is caused by an RSS feed sending a date in an unrecognized format. Do you have any RSS feeds running? Have you subscribed to any? The error's not critical and it should go away once you get rid of the RSS feed causing it.

This was a good clue.

I was getting the same error message and don't get any RSS feeds. Went to Safari preferences->RSS and unchecked "Automatically update articles in Bookmarks Bar. This was the only thing checked. Haven't gotten this error since.

A little off topic, I was also getting constant nfsiod errors looking for automounts. I looked and the nfsiod was indeed running, even though I didn't enable it and was not interesting in automounting anything. I killed it and the errors stopped. I don't think this will break anything and have not seen any degraded performance or errors since I did this 3 days ago.
