Network pref crashing

	Running 10.4.8 on a MacBook 13" Core Duo. Problem: When I go into Network pref and I set it to wired ethernet location, the applicaiton suddenly quits with an error message. What I have tried: * Creating a new location and setting it to Built-In Ethernet. Also crashes. * Deleting Networking plist. Also crashes. * Deleting System Preferences plist. ibid. I am currently booted into XP and using wired ethernet and it works fine, so I know it's not a hardware problem. Help!
